10 Romantic Candles to Set the Mood for Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is the perfect holiday to celebrate love, whatever that means to you.

For me, it will mean appreciating my caring husband. Calling my mom to let her know how much I love her. And also, making some time to do some self-care.

All the while, I’ll have at least one candle burning to set the mood! For Valentine’s Day, I’m thinking luxurious rose and wine-scented candles in warm red and magenta hues.

No matter how you plan to spend Valentine’s Day, I bet there’s a candle on my list that will make yours romantic and special:

Rewined Pinot Noir

Luscious and juicy, Pinot Noir is a perfect Valentine’s Day pick. With notes of cranberry and fig, this blend is a warm and rich take on the beverage. Better yet, it’s crafted from a recycled wine bottle so you’re giving the Earth a little love, too.

Voluspa Prosecco Rose

Chilled prosecco and edible white rose petals make for an intoxicating blend in this luxury candle. With a chromatic pink and gold-flecked tin, this votive is begging to be repurposed, that is, once you’re through with its impressive 50 hours of burn time.

Our Own Candle Company’s Wine & Roses

Sensing a pattern yet? This cheery Mason jar candle boasts a killer combo—the heady perfume of red roses and the robust, inky boldness of a dark red wine. Together you have a delicate scent followed by a powerful one for a candle that commands the whole room.

Yankee Candle Fresh Cut Roses

Yankee Candle says this isn’t just the scent of a rose, but the scent of an elegant English rose garden, complete with a dozen varieties of roses in white, pink, sunset, and red. It smells just like real roses and is a comfort for those of us who don’t have gardens of our own.

Diptyque Roses

This is the high end offering of the rose-scented candle world, and at just $32 it’s a steal. The Parisian candle company Diptyque has quickly developed a cult following for scents like this one, the fragrant aroma of a red rose bouquet.

Love Connection Cupid

This festive candle doubles as Valentine’s Day decor. The Cupid candle smells like white linen, with notes of Chamomile, Patchouli, and Jasmine. Perfect for the candle lover who wants a seasonal candle but isn’t a big fan of roses.

La Jolie Muse Candy Love

Fruity and floral at the same time—that’s Candy Love. It’s a blend of essential oils that have calming and destressing properties. Its understated peach and gold palette will fit with any room.

Michel Design Works Romance

Even if this candle didn’t smell nice, I’d have to buy it for its beautiful design and packaging. Fortunately it does smell great—like a romantic bouquet of fresh flowers. With its lantern-shaped gift box, it’s ideal for showing somebody you love them this Valentine’s Day.

Red Feather Romance Aromatherapy Massage Oil Candle

Ready to rev up the romance? This jasmine-scented aromatherapy candle melts into massage oil. Its sensuous votive can be tipped sideways to easily glide oil on a lover’s body.

Love & Attraction Spell Candle
Rose, lavender, passion flower, and cherry bark combine for a naturally scented candle. I’m not putting any money on whether the “spell” works, unless of course, you’re attempting to cast a spell to make your house smell awesome.
